Holland America Line has held a tulip naming ceremony for its 153rd anniversary with UK trade partners in attendance.
The cruise line held the event at the Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands where the newest signature tulip called ‘Savour the Journey’ was named by Olympian speedskater Joy Beune.
Katie Wilson from Bolsover Cruise Club, Robbie White from Touchdown Travel, Gary Slade from Iglu, Tracy Clenshaw from Fred Olsen Travel, Mark Henderson from Gold Medal, Lee Rogers from Canadian Affair and Karen Stewart and Rhiannon Kilbride from CruiseKings were hosted by Holland America Line associate vice-president of sales and marketing for the UK and Ireland Karen Farndell and business development manager Gemma Withers (as pictured).
The tulip was grown exclusively for Holland America Line with bold orange petals and a yellow centre to reflect the line’s Dutch heritage.
Vice-president for international sales and marketing Nico Bleichrodt said: “Our Dutch heritage is central to who we are, and naming our Savour the Journey tulip at Keukenhof is a meaningful expression of that connection.
“We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to name this tulip and for the care and craftsmanship behind it. It reflects the sense of intention that defines our brand and how we invite guests to experience the world.”
