Hays Travel has reinstated the ‘peace of mind guarantee’ it first launched during the Covid pandemic.
Owner Irene Hays told this year’s Hays Independence Group conference the group had gone out with a message of reassurance to help its customers during the current uncertainty caused by war in the Middle East.
“We have gone out with the reassurance message big time and it’s had the desired effect. Business was up on Saturday (April 18), and Sunday was good too,” she added.
The “early shoots of a return to business” on Saturday came as the Strait of Hormuz was briefly reopened.
The Hays Travel Peace of Mind Guarantee – which is promoted via the group’s website – allows customers to amend bookings for free up to 14 days before travel for any reason, subject to availability and any increase in cost passed on by suppliers.
For imminent departures, it includes a full refund within 14 days if the Foreign Office has advised against travel to a destination. If restrictions occur while the client is on holiday, Hays will work with its suppliers to try to return the client before restrictions take effect.
